Kevin O'Brien - Drums & Vocals
“I like drums and noise” – From his humble beginnings in Modesto in central California, raising goats and chickens by day…..and playing drums in cover bands at night, Kevin decided in the 1980’s to explore the LA music scene. Kevin became a member of the Los Angeles Songwriter Showcase and performed and recorded with many aspiring songwriters and artists. “I admit, I just never have had the patience for lessons” – Kevin is a self taught drummer gathering valuable experience from collaborating with studio engineers and studying the performances of some of his favorite drummers (Neil Peart, Tommy Aldridge, Steve Smith, Travis Barker…). “I love doing the intense three and four hour cover band gigs; it’s a real workout and an opportunity to play many different music styles, and drum for a really, really long time, that’s what I like”. Today Kevin stays busy in the Southern California Cover Band circuit where his passion for drumming and love of sharing music with fellow musicians and listeners keeps him humble and grateful for the gift of his musical talent.
